The Ford C6 transmission was a heavy-duty auto (http://www.refinance-autoloans.info/links.php)matic transmission built by the Ford Motor Company between 1966 and 1996. It featured three forward speeds and reverse.
It was initially built at the Livonia Transmission Plant in Livonia, Michigan, but production was shifted to the Sharonville Transmission Plant near Cincinnati, Ohio during the mid-1980s.
It was very similar to the C4 transmission but could handle greater power. It was used primarily in trucks, although it was also used in some larger cars (http://e-carloans.info/links.php) with larger engines (see Ford FE engine and Ford 385 engine. The transmission is very popular in the sport of drag racing today, with units equipped with manual valve bodies and transbrakes, some of which are air shifted.
Applications:
1978–1991 Ford Bronco
1967–1996 Ford F-Series
1964–1970 Ford Fairlane
1966–1980 Ford LTD
1977–1979 Ford LTD II
1966–1979 Ford Ranchero

I have a C6 that came out of a 72 Grand Torino Sport. It was behind a 351 / 4bbl so it is a small bell housing transmission. I bought it to put it into my 89 Mustang. However, I have decided to go with a c4. I also have the torque converter and shield plate. Although I do not know the exact condition of this transmission, I believe it to be good. (I know and trust the guy that I bought it off of) If you are interested I will sell it for what I have in it plus shipping, $175.00.

emaile me at johnscribner46@gmail.com if you are interested.
