I have a 2006 Ford Five Hundred SE and when I am driving it, it makes this noise almost like it's coming from the mufflers or tires. If anyone has a solution or the same problem, please help.

View Full Version : Loud Noise Coming From Rear dbroncosfan22 10-17-2007, 01:46 PM I have a 2006 Ford Five Hundred SE and when I am driving it, it makes this noise almost like it's coming from the mufflers or tires. If anyone has a solution or the same problem, please help. Hayapower 10-17-2007, 02:01 PM Noises are the hardest to diagnose at the forum level.. Can you describe the noise, or if there is any other sensation/vibration, thump, rumble, ect along with the noise? dbroncosfan22 10-17-2007, 07:37 PM The noise coming from my 06 Five-hundred is like awhistle noisetogether with a vibration. It sounds as if I need to have my wheel bearing change or something. it goes away sometimes and also gets louder at times. By the way thanks for getting back at me on the this problem, sonny32 12-29-2008, 10:52 PM Mine just started today,,, and yes at a medum to high (55) speed it sounds like a rear bearing but if realy listened to at low speed it is comming from the front to mid section it is a ROAR sound as the car speeds up the roar get faster and as it slows, it slows,,(it almost sounds like the normal noise the car makes but allot louder)thats why I say it sounds like rear bearing but it is comming from the front,,, I thought it may be the CVT but someone (mullethead) said there were no gears in the CVT,,,or may be the CV joint,,, I dont know,,,, I cant workon anything past a 1985 model... Nowarning light on dash,,, Anyone have any Ideas??? It's a 2006 with almost 50,000,,awd,,,cvt besides that I like it,,, sonny32 12-31-2008, 01:57 PM UPDATE,,, I took mine to the shop and they said it is the front wheel Bearing,,It's cover so I can rest easy it won't cost but the 25 bucks co pay,, Hope this helps Sonny32 |
