I have a 1998 Ford Escort and I wanted to take out the stock tape deck(which broke) and install a new one. I hear that I need to get some sort of adapter piece that the new cdplayer/take deck hooks to.
Does anyone know the name of this piece? or where I can find the name of the piece?

Hello, If you are wanting to replace the stock tape deck with an aftermarket CD player there is a company called Metra that makes a kit that allows you to install the CD player into their faceplate/mounting bracket. You will have to take the A/C heat control switches off of your radio and install on the new adapter. I saw one on eBay for $25.00 buy it now price with $10.00 shipping and has the wiring harness adapter included. If you just want to get another factory tape deck their are several of them on eBay also for as little as $5.00.
No I am not selling these on eBay, I just have bought a lot of stuff for my Escort on eBay and have had good results. Hope this helps
