Have a 2003 Ford Explorer and the ABS light has come on. Brakes are OK and was wondering if a sensor could be bad or if this ABS light is a common light for different sensors on the suv. Thanks, for any help or knowledge on this problem.

As a Ford Tech the most common reason for that on that year model is the rear speed sensor mounted in the rear differential. There is a new updated part to fix that.

Most times you can get lucky. As the lil magnet will get a small piece of metal on it. an that will trip the lite , just clean it off an your good to go. I have found this quite often . An after yanking the diff apart to find no real problem. if it aint a big chunk on it an the diff aint making no noise . I let it ride. An other times I have found the wire chafed from folks 4- wheeling an shorting out the harness, and as the other post have started as well. but most times the lites comes on cause u got a problem of some type, I know the old RABS valve was foe ever failing
