Hi. Last month i bought a 2002 ranger xlt 4x4 flareside 4.0l engine, i would really like to get a exhaust system for it, not necessarily a cat back system, maybe just a new muffler, i listened to the magnaflow catback sound clip on their site and i really didnt like the sound of it, it was kinda ricey, i know that its gonna be hard to get a throaty sound from a v6 (i owned a 1994 Mercury Cougar 4.6l v8 before this truck so ive read all the exhaust forums in the world on these cars) but if anyone has any suggestions i would appriciate it.
Thanks

i just recently bought the almost extact same pickup ( 03, standard bed) i installed a dynomax kit on mine. on the web site they sound pretty good, and i noticed a good increase in power.
the web site is dynomax.com.

I know your post is quite old, but if your still looking for an exhaust, I just installed the gibson system on my ranger and on a buddies with a 4.0L. They both sound better than any other system that I have heard on these trucks.

i completely agree with the gibson exhaust post. my gibson sounds great and it's on a 4banger.
