I just bought a 2006 Ford Five Hundred. I never paid this any mind, but a friend of mine said this issue was not normal. When my driver's side door is open (without the key in the ignition) the car dings. It also dings when the key is in the ignition. Is this normal? I never really thought about it, but if it is an issue, I will need to address this to the dealership to have this repaired.

normally, the sounds come when the driver side door is open with the key in the ignition.

check the wire properly installed or maybe this is modification from previous owner.
