'BELT MINDER' DEACTIVATING/ACTIVATING

(Also in your owners guide)

Preparation
NOTE: The Belt-Minder® deactivating/activating can also be carried out using the scan tool.
Apply the parking brake before deactivating/activating the safety Belt-Minder®.

Place the gear selector lever in PARK (P) (automatic transaxle) or NEUTRAL (N) (manual transaxle).[/ol]

Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.[/ol]

Close all the vehicle doors.[/ol]

Unbuckle the driver and the front passenger safety belts.[/ol]
Deactivating/Activating
NOTE: The driver and front passenger Belt-Minder® are deactivated/activated independently.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the ON position (do not start the engine).

Wait until the safety belt warning lamp turns off (approximately 1 minute).[/ol]

NOTE: Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning indicator turns off.For the seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt in the unbuckled state. After this step the safety belt warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds.[/ol]

Within 10 seconds of the safety belt warning indicator turning on, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.

This disables the safety Belt-Minder® feature for that seating position, if it is currently enabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds.[/ul]

This enables the safety Belt-Minder® feature for that seating position, if it is currently disabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the indicator off, then the safety belt warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.[/ul][/ol]

After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.[/ol]
