Hello guys... im a new member just found the site when i accidently didnt put an 'S' for www.fordforums.com and i thought i might check this out while im at it ;)

im from australia and i own a Ford Fairmont Ghia 1987, not that ud know of.. heres some pics of my car...

Welcome to the forum. I had a 81 Ford Fairmont Futura long time ago. Didn't know Ford was still using the Fairmont nameplate anymore, but they must be since you have one.

No, I'm not Australian and I've never been there before, I live in the USA near Richmond, VA on the east coast. Like I said, the Fairmont was a model Ford had in the USA back in the late 70's to early 80's. It was a mid-sized model that took the place of the Torino model I believe sometime around 1977 but I'm not real sure on that date. The 2 door coupe model was called a Fairmont Futura and looked fairly sporty. NHRA drag racer Bob Glidden drove a '79 model in the Pro Stock class and was very successful with it. I think Ford did away with the US version when they came out with the Taurus model, but I'm not really a Ford historian so I probably don't have the facts correct.
