I bought a 2001 Expedition w/ only 43000 miles about 2 months ago. Yesterday just about all the important stuff just stopped woking, like the brake shift interlock, the rear a/c, and the power windows. Well that's all I figured out so far, the fuses are good accept the brake shift interlock keeps blowing. any help??????

are they all on that same circuit?

I'm gonna say yes, because it's a 5 amp fuse that blows, and for that 1/2 second that it's not blown yet, what's supposed to work does work, for now, everything is working since I put in a 30 amp fuse, but I still don't feel comfortable wit it. U know, My wife and daughter might get stuck out there someday call me and ask "What's a Fuse?".

30 amp fuse wont fix the problem i would rather burn a fuse than fry something else up .if there is 4 things on that circuit put a 5 amp on each circuit then when the fuse blows you will know which circuit is the problem coming sounds like its shorted somewhere .you have to isolate the problem first

So more than likely there's a wire touching metal somewhere? How about the interior lights, they have a relay not a fuse on the inside fuse compartment, I'm wondering if that could be where it's coming from. I really think I should get a wiring diagram, don't you?

Pull the steering column shroud and follow the two wires coming from the bottom of the shift lever. I don't know if the Trans OD button is on the same circuit but those wires shorting to metal parts on the steering column cause havoc on Excursions and Postal Explorer trucks.

Ive seen alot of problems with the lil spaghetti wires, on the OD switch chaf on the column an short out as well.

Lesson to be learned they told you to NOT to put in that 30 amp fuse insted of a 5 amp.Quote:hockeyhitman69 Date 11/9/2005 7:43:53 PM
