I'm renting a new 2004 F150 while my 97 is in the shop for some body work. I noticed the radio doesn't automatically turn off when you shut off the truck and remove the key.
Anybody know if this is normal or not???
Looks like the stock Ford radio with a single CD player in dash.
Seems like a dumb thing to do as most people are so used to it cutting off with the key off.

Yep. That is normal. The radio continues until you open the door. I picked up the new F150 crew cab in December. Nice truck.

thanks, I mentioned this last night to my racing friend who recently bought a 2003 F350 and he says the same thing you did, something about letting you sit there with the radio running but the key off, but as soon as you open the door, it shuts it off like normal.

The radio doesnt turn off until you open the door. Its is like that so your music is still on until you are ready to exit the car.

My 1990 F-150 does that once in a while, too. All I do is jiggle the ignition to turn the radio off![sm=massbounce.gif]
It must be a special feature...
