Hi. My sister has a 1996 MUSTANG GT V8 4.6 281. It failed emissions. The technician indicated a "P0174 OBD-II Trouble Code...System Too Lean (Bank 2)". What does this mean? What might cause this problem? What might be required to fix the problem? How much might it cost to repair?
Thank you,
Tom

Too lean means you're fuel to air/ fuel ratio doesn't contain enough fuel. Look for pluged fuel injectors. I'd run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through it and replace the fuel, and air filter.

I would make sure the engine is reaching proper operating tempature. also look for a vacuum leak , low fuel pressure, bad injector. pull the plugs on that side of the engine and look for one that has been running lean.If you find one that is very light in colortake a compression test on that cylinder. Good luck
