View Full Version : manual transmissions rwbatten 01-25-2005, 11:11 AM Just Purchased a used 98 escort ZX2 and the 5th gear does not work, I hear theres a service entrance to repair this that can be Accessed behind the driver front tire, is this true and then how hard of a job is it to change out the part thanks for the help Wes cctxfish 01-25-2005, 01:44 PM IF the gear is bad I'd suspect you'd have to remove it to make any repairs to it. truckpuller 02-26-2005, 12:22 PM On some models there is a back cover that you can remove that will expose 5th gear.
