Hey, I can't think of the name of this car. Itw as made from like 86-90 and when it first came out it had 2 spoilers on the back then they got rid of the 2 and put just 1, they only made like 40,000 and I think they were mostly in Europe. Anyone know the name?

I think you are describing the Merkur.
They came with the 4 cylinder turbo, which I believe was the XR4Ti model...however there are some conversions out there with the venerable 5.0

Hope this helps.

it may be the escort cosworth:

or the sierra xr4i/cosworth:

I believe it must have been the Mercury Merkur XR4ti (turbo injected). It ran in the late 80's early 90's and was more likely to see than the Cosworth deals. As a matter of fact I've heard of many of the Merkur spoilers and engines making their way into/onto some Mustangs of the same years. But don't be fooled - I've never heard of one of those regular Mustangs with a factory double spoiler ( it would have to have been a special arrangement - maybe the Mustang SVO (the one with the factory cock-eyed hood scoop) would have had it ? ).

The cosworth Escort had the high rise spoiler until 98, so maybe.
that's the first thing that popped into mind when I read the first post

The Mustang SVO had two spoilers on it . It was made from 1984-1986. Noticable was the fact it had only two head lights(at the time) and an off center hood scoop to feed the intercooler.

I'd bet on the SVO. It was a popular car since its 4 cylinder 0-60 times put it as faster than the 5.0 powered versions for at least one year.

Many XR4ti parts interchange with the Mustang.
