TSB 06-14-4[/align] MERCON ATF IS BEING REPLACED BY MERCON V ATF AS A SERVICE FLUID. ISSUE:[/u] MERCON® Automatic Transmission Fluid is being replaced by MERCON® V as a service fluid. ACTION:[/u] Beginning immediately all automatic transmission / transaxle applications requiring MERCON® can now be serviced using MERCON® V or MERCON® Automatic Transmission Fluid or dual usage fluids labeled MERCON® / MERCON® V. After July 1, 2007, MERCON® Automatic Transmission Fluid will no longer be manufactured, therefore, availability of this fluid will only continue for however long it takes to deplete what remains in inventory. Malibu Barbie 12-18-2006, 02:18 AM Thanks for posting that TSB, Hayapower! It applies to my Taurus also, so it's something that's good for me to know too. Bronco, sometimes it can be good to have a little paranoia.Nissan recommends DexronIII Automatic Transmission Fluid(ATF) for the power steering on my all of my Z's. I've had to replace two steering racks within 1 year on the same car because the certified mechanics didn't even know this, and had been using power steeringfluid (not ATF), which damaged the seals and caused my racks to leak. So, it's always better to ask questions to be safe, rather than sorry later. ;) wildandhorsey 12-18-2006, 08:02 AM Thanks for your post, I keep an eye on that too... |
