Hi, Ihave a 2005 Escape (http://www.fordforum.com/m_18906/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#) that I have had for less than 3 weeks. Its still under warranty.

The message center does random self checks (sometimes repeatedly) which is very annoying. My dealer (http://www.fordforum.com/m_18906/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#) and service reps are great but they said they never heard of this problem and replaced the instrument cluster and guess what? Still does it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I feel like I'm on candid camera when I'm driving (http://www.fordforum.com/m_18906/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#) along and it starts cycling through. [:@]

Might be a message center switch problem.. Since all the message center functions are controlled by the switches, might be a starting point.. The 'system check'display is a sub-routine of the setup menu.
