89 Mustang GT 5.0 with 140,000 miles. The ignition lock cylinder seized. I can't turn it to the run position to be able to push in the release pin so it will come out. So I unbolted the assembly from the collumn in order to replace it but I can't get the tilt wheel assembly off. I removed the steering wheel and the circlip that holds the tilt assembly against the bearing. But it won't come off. Looks like the flange is too big to come through the hole. How do you remove the tilt wheel assembly?[/align]

 

You could havehad a locksmith unplug it. It probably would have been as cheap or cheaper than replacing the whole thing.
