Hi, everyone, i'm new to the forum and have a problem. on my 98 taurus lx i have a stangesorta grinding noise (sounds as if break pads are worn out and your hard braking). When driving witht he car and applying the breaks the car cars seems to be not disingaging the trottle/transmission. I get the above noise (brakes were checked out and are fine) usually when braking and the rpm's don't fall under about 1200 rpm. it seems as if the car is still trying to accelerate. I've cleans and greases the trottle lines and what not but it still does it. my father went to the dealer and they think that (he thinks) the trottle body (butterfly) has to be replaced or that "valve" that's placed above the trottle body. also, while cruising at any speed, when we place the car in nuetral the rpm's don't fall down to idle like they do in all our other cars.
But i was wondering if anyone else has this same type of problem and what you did to get it fixed.
Thanks for the help guys
Steven
