I have recently purchased a 93 Tempo w/ 2.3 FI. I have recently noticed that the vehicle began to stutter during take-off or during mantaining the speed to 60-70 mph. I have replaced the TPS twice. both times it seemed like it helped for a week or so but seemed as if it would come back and continue to get worse as I ignored it. Now it is really bad and I need some advice.

Oh none of the TPS would install the way that they said to install it. Is there something different about aftermarket TPS?

I have seen some automobiles picky about using after market parts espescially electrical. My suggestion would to try an OEM(FORD) part and see what happens:)

Also you may want to check the sparkplugs, plug wires, and rotor and distribuator cab may be an actual missfire.

Please post back and lets us know how you make out.:)

Thanks, I'll try that. I just changed the plugs and wires a week ago because I thought the same thing. Cap and rotor are only 2 months old.

What about replacing to fuel filter?

Speed sensor/TPS needs proper calibration and if I remember right something messes with proper calibration. What was it? EGR? Don't recall - but check the calibration to be sure the computer didn't change it itself - if so look elsewhere.

Mine is having the EXACT same symptoms as half the other probe owners complaining of stuttering and stalling. Anyone changed out the fuel pump or injectors?
