And I keep leaving the headlights on because of it. When its just dusk out or slightly dark from raining I forget they are on and wake up to a dead battery. I went through the owners manual for my 96 explorer and didnt see any fuse listed for warning lights and I checked the ones I thought could be it but to no avail. Anyone else have this problem and fix it? I hate to pay a bazillion dollars at the dealer for something that could be simple to fix. Thanks for any help!

You need to find the chime module, I don't have a schematic, but my guess is, that the dash light wire goes to it. Do the dash lights work? if so I'm betting on a bad module. [:@] good luck
