TrueDelta reports absolute repair rates that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, to report on new models quickly and track cars closely as they age.
So far 330 F-150 owners have signed up to participate. A good start, but more are needed to provide everyone with reliability information on all model years from 1995 on.
Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.
To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the Ford F-150, free of charge.
We've updated the results for the F-150 to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:
2006: 17, better than average
2005: 12, better than average
2004: 64, about average, but not far from "better than average"
2001: 113, about average, very small sample size
The sample size for the 2004 is four short of the minimum for a full result, and the others are very small. So on the site itself these results are marked with an asterisk and visible only to participants.
A big thank you to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in August and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.
We've updated the results for the F-150 to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:
2006: 30
2005: 37
2004: 48
2003: 49
2001: 88
All better than average except for the 2001, which is about average.
The sample size for the 2004 is four short of the minimum for a full result, and the others are very small. So on the site itself these results are marked with an asterisk and visible only to participants.
A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.
