Default Harshifting and Winning Up Of Engine

I have a 2004 Ranger Edge Truck, and a few months ago my Trani Started Shifting Hard, causing the truck to jerk real bad, and it will sit still in drive letting the engine rev up, i have to play with the gas to get to go into gear. It's worse in reverse, but the funny thing is in the morining when it is cold it acts fine for the first 4 to 6 miles. But once its warmed up, it gets bad. Plus when this happens my overdrive light starts to blink. So when this happens the tranny doesnt know what to do. But shutting it off and restarting it clears it and it will start of fine until it goes to shift into 2nd and 3rd, and it starts all over again. Anyone having any suggestions regarding this matter please respond I would appreciate it.
