I just bought a 2003 Excursion with the V10 engine and love it by the way. However I am trying to see if there is anyway to boost my gas mileage. Right now I am getting 13-14mpg in the city and 18-20mpg on the highway. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info. However, a K&N filter will raise by horsepower by 12 @ 4150rpm. I'm wondering if spending almost $300 will pay off in the long run. I mean I do not want to spend $300 if it is only going to increase my gas milage by a couple of gallons per mile.
A K&N filter (not intake) will cost about $40-50. Your best bet may just to make sure you keep a clean paper filter in it. Don't forget tire pressure, oil/fluids, fuel filter, and plugs and wires( depending on how many miles are on it) A free flow muffler can help increase MPG, granted you don't drive it any harder to hear it. Also try to take it easy with the gas pedal as much as you can. You seem to be doing pretty good as is.
You're doing pretty darn good getting that kind of mileage out of it. I know a lot of 150's that aren't getting that, but I'd agree with the other posters, tires and pressure, oil and definitely a good quality clean air filter.Did anyone mention a new fuel filter, not sure how many miles you have on the truck. If you do get it upto 17-18 lets us know what you did, I'll try the tricks on my 150 to get her over 20.

Hey, I just got an '04 6.0 and I had a K&N on the Bronco that I traded in on it. Do they make a K&N for the Diesel or is the factory filter with the gauge on it the best way to go?
Woof!!! I just checked online with the K&N site and saw the price for the 6.0 air filter... I think I'll make a few car payments first before I can go for that one!!!
