Default Ford Ranger

Help, I have a 96 Ranger, 2.3L 4cyl. It idles really bad, when i disconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor , it idles fine, is it bad? Also, I have a code that comes up PO171, Does anyone know what this code is and is it connected to the Mass Airflow Sensor.

Default Ford Ranger

hey guys got a new one for you. I got a co woker that has a 1999 for ranger 2wd that makes a really loud noise on the high way in 4th gear and it gets really bad in 5th gear.
