Default Front rotors of 2000 Ford Taurus

I can't seem to get the front rotors off of my 2000 Ford Taurus V6 3.0 DOHC 24v. I banged and banged away from every angle but the darn thing won't budge (not even a little). Are the rotors held on by a wheel nut?; if so I can't tell. Thanks for any help.

I have a 97 and a 2003 not unless there is a difference in 2000 which I don't believe there would be. The front rotors are just held in place by a lock washer over the studs on the wheel hub. If the rotors have been replaced before normally the lock washer are left off and the rotors are placed over the wheel studs and then the tire is placed on the studs and the lug nuts are tighten down. In the past on my 2003 the rotors have had a little rust build up where they set on the wheel hubs. This caused me the have to beat them like the old lady has P*)* me off. They did come off just had to beat the hell out of them.
