Default 2000 ford tarus wont turn over

We checked and had power going to fuel pump.My mechanic buddy was going to put new fuel pump in,he had just done the same job on a 2002 sable.Sister wanted to take it to a shop so they put a new fuel pump in an now they say it wont even turn over without a jumper to the starter and that three of the fuel injectors have power when they are not supposed to.How in the blank could this happen? Ps We had power to the fuel pump< but it wasnt running> when key was on 3 to 5 seconds to prime, then had power going to pump when cranking,we were using ground from battery to check this.It would crank but not start, after they put pump on they say it wont crank.Could someone let me know if this is possible. THX Roger
