Default Restoring 79 F150

I've been working on sanding everything down and gettin it ready to repaint. Lots of rust cause it beared the weather for bout 10 years or so. But I was wonder what is the easiest way to go bout sanding and painting the motor. It runs fine and everything so I have no reason to disassemble anything. I'm not lookin forward to the thought of pullin the motor and having remember whats what. Seein as this is my first run at repairing and I'm figuring out most of this as I go. But having lots of luck so far

If the engine runs good, no leaks, then I'd pressure wash it (would help to raise the truck) then pressure wash it again to remove all the loose scale/debris and of course the gunk.. Then use some good'ol elbow grease and hand tools/scrappers, wire brushes and clean it 'in place' as good, clean, and thorough as possible.. Then cover all the areas you don't want any engine paint color, and give it a few heavy coats of engine enamel.. Detail the rest of the engine bay with the engine covered/tented.. BTW,, late 70's 'F' series trucks are my favorite as far as general longevity and ease of repairs, and IMO the best trucks Ford produced....
