Thats a fair point. I think if they remodel a vehicle they need to be careful. Remember what happened to the taurus in 96. A radical redesign that was just terrible. They should have stuck with the previous 10 year old design (minus the facelift in 92) and really carefully thought about what made it successful before designing a car that looked like the ford oval.

Most of this section is prehistoric - years old. Been there, done that! I have bought Fords and Ford products since 1964, my first new one. Most were Fords but also Mercs and Lincs. Just got my No. 17 (I think). It is a 2011 Taurus SHO. Looks like its going to be my best one yet.

 

my problem with ford is a different one,i will not buy anything but a manual trans.my last fullsize ford was a 1969 galaxie,and i love my big cars.the last ford i bought was a 2006 5-150,v-6,5-speed,8-foot bed.since ford no longer offers a manual trans in any of there f-series i will not be back.this is my last truck becaus no one offers any manual trans anymore.so i will keep my old cars running forever.

 

I myself used to be a Chevy Guy until I bought my 68 3/4 ton 2wd camper special with a F.E. block 360 I bout it for 700 bucks but I soon sank 2k into it but the truck was great fun to work on and simple to fix, of course the only electronics the damn thing had was the lights the fuel gauge the radio and the starter no O.D. no cruise control not even power brakes I'm 6'4 200 pds and it took all my weight to stop the damn thing if I had weight behind it I had to stop a mile in advance,Then I bought a 80 Ford F150 Ranger 1/2 ton 4x4 with a 302 the truck was a beast 4 in lift and cleared 33 12.50 15's it went everywhere that I wanted it too 4 low in 2nd gear but the gas mileage just wasn't there so I traded it for a piece of Chevrolet s10 I have never had so many problems in my life one right after another so I got a 89 ranger 2 years older then the s10 50 thousand miles more and NO PROBLEMS I got better gas mielage then s10 too with a bigger motor the only thing I didn't like was the dual spark plugs per cylinder I now have a 93 F150 4x4 with a 302 (in process of replacing the motor with a temp 302) when I got it it had 254,000 miles with the original motor in, This truck was rode hard but the body is in mint shape other then a dent in the top of the bed and the normal front bumper sag, I'm putting a roller cam new rockers valves and a performance crank cast pistons and using the same heads (gt heads any ford enthusiast will know this) This is the best truck in my opinion ( I don't like IFS but it does the job) This and the 3/4 with the 7.3 powerstroke not the pre-powerstroke. Now in saying this I'm also Driving a 08 F150 2wd with the 4.6 its a good truck I don't like 2wd's but this truck looks nice gets me where I need to go and does decent on gas for a v8 I love the truck would be much better in 4x4 but its still one of the best trucks on the market look at the 08-10 chevys they're horrible they have too small of tires and too big of a body they look like a fat girl riding a pocket rocket the motor has alot to be desired yes you can chip it but thats just more money out of your pocket you go the next step up and the Duramax is Trash the only nice feature that they have is the j-braking system but still the truck looks awful The ford is cheaper better looking and still has a better powertrain behind it I'm not very partial to the new powerstrokes but they are making the 6.4 into a decent motor, but this is a problem with international not ford, For those of you who don't know FORD makes CUMMINS and they make too much money selling it to dodge to put it in they're own trucks, as well I for see problems with the new 6.7 cummins ford made it right when it was the 5.9 12 valve and then tried to improve with the 24 valve which caused problems. I guess what I'm getting at is EVERY company has problems with their own vehicles but they try their damndest, and WE the consumer will always have our own opinion, just like some people like mustard some people dont its your own personal taste Mine just happens to be Ford, Whats yours?

 

Has any people installed Diamond Kote DK9000 for rust proof ? It is an electronic device to prevent your car from rusting instead of spray. Does this technology work well and better than spray ? I got an offer at $420 including installation here in PEI, Canada. No idea if it is market price or the dealer try to rip me off ?
