Default Hi Guys,......Need help w/power windows..

I installed power windows in my 59 Fairlane....I used a 64 harness and '64 motors. I had the mptors rebuilt......the wiring looks great, But I still have erattic problems. At any given time, one window(any one of the four) will decide to "not work". I take the motors out, put them on the bench, they work fine. After re-install they work great....for a week or so....then another one will screw up. Can anyone help me w/this mind-bender?
Thanks in advance guys,
Linden J.

Hmm you may be losing power to the motor from the switches...due to internal open circuit.Confirm at failure if you have input power to the motors...then from the switches..

There may be an electrical difference between the two harnesses if one had an alternator and one had a generator. This may be fixed by checking out the '64 and seeing if it had an alternator. If the electric isn't travelling right it will not act right. You may need older motors to match your generator? Either that or bad wiring in which case use a one-wire electric tester light to check what is going on. As a last resort use a multimeter to check for high resistance in the wires or switches.
