Need complete wiring diagram for all rear lamps & trailer plug
So I got this 1996 302ci M5OD Bronco last Fall and this Spring it has no Reverse / backup lamps and all 6-wires on the 6-wire trailer plug never have signals either. Both Reverse lamps don't work.
The fuses and relays are all good. Bulbs are good (tried new ones also). There is 12v at the #5, 15amp fuse in the bay and at the Reverse sensor switch. I've jumped the switch feed and it made no difference. I've checked ALL fuses and all devices and only things not working are Reverse lamps and Trailer plug. Grounds are all good. I've checked all of these 3 times.
Somehow the 12V is not making it to the bulb fixtures. It's at the fuse box and the Reverse switch connector.
I can induce 12v into the back of the bulb fixtures and they light.
So I started to checkout wiring, starting at the closest plug connections to the lamps.
This is the plug that comes from the front of the Bronco and it goes to the male plug up to the Reverse lamps on Left/Dr side.
I'm starting to wonder why 1 of 4 wires are different colors on both sides of the plug. On the female (coming from main harness) there is a Green with stripe wire but on its corresponding side of the male plug it is Orange with a stripe. Is this the right wiring? See pics.
The other 3 wires are the same on both sides of the plug but I'm not sure what they do.
Isn't the Black/Pink wire the 12v for the Reverse lamps?
Black is Ground for the Reverse lamp or all the lamps?
Brown is what?
And then there is the Green with stripe to Orange with stripe wire.
Anyone any tips or diagrams so I can identify the wires I have back there?
Plug closest to Left rear reverse light socket. Notice Orange wire on Right and the Green wire on the Left. They are connected when the plug is put together.
Plug on Left that comes from front of vehicle. It has the Green wire, brown, black/pink, and black.
Plug and wires that lead up into the Left taillight assembly. This has the Orange wire mated to the Green wire when the plug is put together with one shown above.
Thanks!
