Question about 351 mods.
I have a '93 Bronco with the 5.8 351 and I'm wanting to put on an Edelbrock performer package (heads, cam, intake) on in the near future. I am wondering about my E4OD transmission. People say I will have to modify it to handle the extra power. I have heard about shift kits, stall converters and various other things. Could someone please explain to me what these things do and what else I may need to consider? Thanks.

RE: Question about 351 mods.
I haven't kept up with the modification of Windsor series Ford motors for quite a while, but have spent some quality time back in the early 1990s playing with a 92 Mustang LX. I also, because I was employed by an organization famed for their pursuits on the southwest border, spent a lot of time thrashing 1986 to 95 EFI Broncos. From what I recall, the 5.0 HO in the Mustang had a different fuel delivery system (mass air) than the Ford trucks did. This made truck intake and cam modifications difficult unless the motor was first converted over to run mass air.
I never blew or saw anyone else break an E4OD, but can say that they start to get rather loose under a lot of abuse (and that was from stock 302s in the Broncs , both on and off road). Depending on how hard you're going to drive your Bronc, and many miles its got on the clock, I'd seriously consider refreshing it and enhancing its performance capability. It'll make your 351 perform better and save an embarrassing moment down the line.
