The tailgate window will no longer go up or down. What should I check and what are the likely causes?

 

I think this is a common problem, but unfortunately don't know the details as to why. I would start by first checking the fuse and then second (if the fuse is good) pulling the inside panel off of the door and checking the wiring to see if the motor is getting proper juice for it to work.
