Default 1984 grand marquis occassional stalling problem

I recently purchased a 1984 grand marquis with the 302 throttle body. Its an exceptionally nice car with 71000 original miles. The motor runs nice and smooth, its responsive and just runs nice. The problem i am having is it stalls coming to a stop or making a parking lot turn every now and then and seems to be using a bit more fuel than it should.Right now my main concern is the stalling which seems to happen when it is at operating temperature. When it does stall the easiest way to get it to fire again is to give it just a little gas pedal.Im pretty unfamiliar with this motor.I would think that if it was a throttle position sensor it would have an irratic idle but like i said i dont know these motors that well.Any points in the right direction for a cure would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome back !
Is the idle speed what it should be?
Could the addl load from the power steering while turning be too much for a possible low idle speed? Carb or fuel injected?
If using more fuel than normal, (How do we know what is normal if recently purchased), Could the fuel/air mixture be a little rich ? What do the spark plugs look like ? Black, grey, tan?

This is the throttle body motor.Idle speed seems to be fine.I did turn idle up a bit when we first got the car and adjusted idle at i guess you would call it the dash pot or idle up solenoid on the left side of the throttle body.I did notice this seems to work in conjunction with the car coming down off high idle when you first start the car.I havent had a chance to look at anything in depth as my son drives this car.He works nights and i work days so we dont cross paths that often. As for economy i had the crown vic version of this car quite a few years ago and remember it getting great mileage.Other than regular maintenance i never had to do anything to that car.

I got a chance to turn the idle up a bit more yesterday and im thinkin it may just be the idle control that isnt working like it should all the time.Theyre cheap enough from rock auto and as long as i have a couple other things to order from there ill just get one and put it on.
