Default 99 Crown Vic LX suspension

I would like some input on replacing my coil springs for a softer ride where I do not feel all of these bad roads as much. I replaced all 4 shocks which helped a lot but the car did ride much better 5 years ago . There are coil springs listed at all the parts stores but which would be the best for my car. My Crown Vic is a low mileage (66000) and is in top shape with no rust , real clean in and out . I plan on keeping it for a few more years .
No Air Bags wanted on this car just replace what is already there . Any information is wecome , thank you .

jrc_1936,

Honestly, the stock OEM springs are very softly sprung from the factory and offer a supple, compliant ride that absorbs the inconsistencies and pot-holes found on most roads. There may be some after market springs out there that offer an even cushier ride quality but I would look into replacing such suspension components as bushings, insulators and ball joints. Over time these parts wear out and consequently compromise the ride quality in your car. Refer to the following diagram to see an illustration of the aforementioned parts: '99 Crown Victoria suspension

These parts tend to be cheaper than after market springs so it's definitely worthwhile to consider replacing them..

You may also want to check into the Grand Marquis spring. These are designed for smooth and comfortable ride for older folks. Like me.

Thank You for the info . I did replace one ball joint and two other bushings but could not find anything else that was worn out . The same part # replacement coil springs are for both the crown vic and the MG .
What I did do was buy new tires and that helped more then I thought . They still had more then enough thread to pass Mass insp. but only had about 10000 more mile left . I am happy with the ride now altho it could be inproved with new coil springs .
