I am wanting to use a mobile amateur radio transceiver in a 2003 Crown Victoria. In the cab are two power sources, one the cigar lighter and below in another outlet for GPS etc. Is this outlet a direct connection to the battery? A direct connection is needed for my application.

A separate cable can be run from the trunk to the battery but the in cab outlet is a simplier solution.
