Default Crown Vic. Air Suspension

My 1999 Crown Vic. needed new shocks so I did some research and all I could find was Air Bag suspension so I had my shocks replaced with Monroe Gas filled shocks. Now I am told that the CV had air shocks not air bags. My mechanic says that the air shock suspensions are hard and expensive to repair or replace and since I already replaced the shocks it would be less expensive to just replace the rear coil springs. Does anyone know the remedy?

Update;
I priced two new air bags from ford installed. They wanted $404.95 for each air bag plus $126.00 to install. With sales tax and shop fees the total was $1076.90. I bought two airbags from Amazon.com for $160.00 free shipping to my front door and $80.00 to my local mechanic, I saved $836.90 and all is well.

Default Replacement Coils for Rear Air Suspension

I have found that 1AAuto.com has replacement coil kits for Crown Vic's rear air suspension system...you could check there or at JC Whitney online for complete kits...
from 199.95 to 243.00 respectively.

I am looking for a video on replacing the turn signal/wiper switch on a 92 Crown Vic LX.. any ideas?
