Daytime running lights

DRL usually comes as a module that can be unplugged if you want to disable that function. I don't know where is this located on the car you have, it could be in the engine compartment or under the dash. Removing the module will NOT alter the normal headlight functionality.
BTW ... what's wrong with having DRLs? Here in Canada they're mandatory, and I think they're an effective safety measure. Also, during the few years I lived in the US I always drove with the headlights on for the same reason, your car is a lot more visible to the incoming traffic with the headlights on

Study after study has affirmed the effectiveness of DRL in reducing accidents. Having taken many safe driving courses , the object is to be seen. DRL help ,I would suggest keeping them working. Can you imagine a driver stating "I didn't see you" when he drove into the parked ambulance and patrol car with all their beacons flashing at the scene of an accident ? I was there and before that thought I saw it all,but you can't have too many safety features these days.

I'm having a similar problem with my 2002 cvpi. when I bought it, it seemed like the DRL were disabled, and I did like this option to turn all lights out, I just ran it with lights "on" for regular driving but was able to turn them to "off" instead of "drl". All the sudden today, when in the "off" position, the lights are on, but in DRL mode. I want to know how to get them to go back to "off" instead of daytime runners? sorry if this is a thread hijack, I will post my own as well.
