Default Easy parts replacement on an 87 Crown vic 5.0

Im going to replacing as many easy parts as I can get my hands on. Everything from the battery, to spark plugs and wires, to the radiotor hoses to some jimmied hose near the firewall need to be replaced. By the way..if any of you know what that jimmied hose that runs at the back of the engine is I would appreciate some info. It's abot an inch wide and has a prestone antifreeze cap that splits the hose but it doesnt look like it goes to the radiator (i think). Anyways...its a little too long and just bends around all sorts of stuff. Also, is it even worth replacing the plugs and wires or will it do more harm than good? What else can you think of that I can do as a way amature mechanic? Thanks for the info!!

the hose you are speaking of is more than likely the heater core line. people add the "T" in that line to flush the system. tune up would be good idea along with oil change making sure to drain both drain plugs, and i would also clean up the throttlebody where the air filter tube connects into the upper intake. those always get gummed up with stuff and causes problems with running.
