In doing the rebuild did you thoroughly check the valve body for contamination and foreign junk in the bores?
You might try this site.

guess i shoulda mentioned i just did the labor of pullin it and installin it. it was taken to a trans shop for the rebuild. IDK the shop and was actually kind of leary whne it came back. it was all painted up realy purdy, but the thing wasnt even cleaned on the outside before painting.
i just aint sure if there was something i could have done wrong, which on an AOD is narrowed down( i think) to the TV cable or the torque converter not installed properly. but i didnt have a problem reinstalling the trans. itligned right up and bolts from the torgue converter to the flexplate ligned right up the bellhousing slid right up against the engine without any problems.
i spent time adjusting the TV cable. no matter where i had it set at, it didnt change the conditions of the shifting at all.

im half tempted to put the trans on my stand and dink with it myself, but i think it'll go back to the shop since its under warranty.
