Default who has the highest mileage / oldest vic?

Who on here has the highest mileage / oldest Vic? and what kind of problems did you experience along the way? I have a 97 with 117,00 miles and am trying to figure out what kind of longevity to expect. It seems these cars do very well with proper maintenance.

I see them on Gov deals with 250,000. Here goes on the fall out. The police interceptors and regular Vic's are different animals. You can expect a coil or two to go out anytime after 110,000. Transmission and rear end issues are hit and miss. The charging system, alternator, and the brakes will need some attention. Also tie rods and other suspension parts just wear out depending on how it's been driven and maintained. Cars are designed to wear out from time/miles. The rubber and plastics are the ones that time gets. Hope this helps you. Sunfish

Default 2008 Police Interceptor

I just purchased a 2008 Crown Vic Police Interceptor. It had 104,600 miles on it. I am the 3rd owner.
According to Carfax it was a MO State Trooper car & was purchased by the trooper who put the first 50 k on it. He then drove it until 7 months ago when he sold it.

I have a 2000 with 207658 miles on it, not leaking, and just needs a ball joint to be done.

Default 2001 crown victoria

i have a 2001 p-71 that i believe was an iowa state car, it runs and drives fine, i just got the upper ball joint, tie rods and front driver sway bar link fixed. the airbag light is on but it should just be a wiring "issue". other then the paint and few rust spots everything works and it has 246,200 miles on it. i don't think twice about stompin on the gas, and it goes each time. poz rear end to. have fun, they are fun cars.

I had a 97 CVPI. Bought it at 145K miles. Started out as MO state police, then was a sheriffs car. It got hot twice, once when the intake crossover for coolant wore out (replace plenum that has metal crossover) and the second time when inlet pipe on radiator cracked. A year after that the head gasket started leaking coolant into # 1 &2 cylinders (Not into oil though) It became a parts car at 298,957 miles. I cried--wanted to break 300K.
Only work I had to do besides plugs was repair bearings on rear axle, tie rod ends, lower "A" arm bushings, shocks, and driveshaft crosses. Oh yes, a fuel pump. Love it when I did not have to drop the tank to do that. And strangely, on all mine I have had to replace front left bearing hub. Not right hub though.

Used to be a GM (now Government Motors) fan. I love Ford now. Totaled my first 96 and bought it from insurance company as a parts car. Still have the engine and tranny to use. Will but the engine in the above car. Also have another 96 as a backup and will probably put the tranny in it since it have over 250K. Bought an 02 Lincoln Town Car with 115K as another backup.
I use them on a rural mail route and love the cars and the 4.6 engine. Can still do most of the work myself. Put coils on Town Car to replace air bag suspension.\
The cars are easy to repair and do not need that many.

Bought an '05 Crown Vic LX with 165k on about 6 months ago. One owner car. I have put over 5,000 miles on it since.. Really like this car. Have minor problems with ABS and Trac control lights on. Replaced wiper motor. Very clean car. And it gets 18mpg in the city!
