1991 & 1993 E-150 Transmission Compatability
Hello from England.
I am still trying to find an economical way to replace/overhaul the transmission on my converted E150 5.8V8. It was imported from Florida after being converted at new by DMC.
The transmission has done 198,000 miles. It burnt the hell out of the low ratio clutch while halfway up a Norwegian Mountain, and has sat in my drive ever since.
I just found this on EBAY over here:
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
The seller tells me it is from a 1991 E-150 Econoline. Says he thinks it is reconditioned, but no invoices to prove it. Came out of a 1991 "Old Shape" van that had done 75k approx over here.
I cannot fathom if it is suitable or not. He can only tell me that it has FOTP7006CA and RF-E9TP-7A040 on different parts of the actual unit. And the number 34 as in the picture.
I know that the box on mine is a E40D. (three with OD being 4th right?!)
Can anyone help, give me advice or a steer on this please? Transmissions for Econoline's are as rare as Rocking Horse **** over here, so if there is a good chance that this would work, it is worth a try as a recondition would cost at least £1500.
Be good to hear from you guys Stateside.
Cheers
Mark
