1992 Sportsmobile E250
Hello guys,
I am new on this forum and so glad to find it because it is very difficult to find some good informations about the mechanic.
I am in Houston (for my work) for 3 years before to come back in France (where I come from).
I plan to buy a sportsmobile to move during my we. I found on internet and I test drove a 1992 Sportsmobile E250, 5.8l, V8 with 180000 miles (10-12 mpg). The interior and exterior are very clean (incredible for a 1992 SMB). The owner (it is a woman, and that,s why it is so clean ) made a lot to maintain the engine. The transmission has been rebuilt 70000 miles ago. After the testdrive, last friday, there was a leak in the radiator. So she is changing it.
But I am really not an expert in engine, and I would like to know if you think that 180000 miles is a lot. I am in Texas for 3 years and I don't want to spend my we to fixe something. I know I will have to maintain it and it is normal, but if I buy it ($7500) is not to spend $3000 or $4000 every months. In europe 180000 is creazy (I will never buy a french van with 180000M, but we have not got this kind of engine, but in US it is normal.
Thank you very much for your advices.
