2001 Ford E150 Won't Turn Off (Ignition Problem?)
Hey all,
I turned on my van today, and I noticed that the ignition switch in my steering column was pretty light, but when I got to my work, I was unable to turn it off.
In order to turn it off, I had to remove the fuse for the ignition. Now I can't turn the car back on with the ignition, I think because it has a lot of free play (doesnt resist the turn whatsoever). And the battery is drained.
Has anyone else experienced something similar to this? Or could possibly direct me to a resource that shows me how to remove the ignition switch without breaking anything too badly?
Cheers.

A good many times when something like this happens it involves the linkage from the ignition key tumbler section on down to the ign switch mounted under the dash on the steering column. You may need to get into the steering column starting from under the steering wheel itself. Before getting into anything there it would be a very good idea to do a little reading/research because you will be in and around the air bag system.
