2010 E-350 evap/fuel tank issue
Hi all,
gettin evap code off the code reader. several mechanics said its the evap system but wont touch it.
last mechanic actually did a smoke test and it came back with no leaks. he mentioned that it could be fuel pressure switch on the fuel inlet to the tank and that if it was going bad it wouldnt throw a code by itself but could be related to the evap code.
driver said the gas pump occasionally clicks off too early however the van is fueled at million different places (courier work).
the mechanic that did the smoke test said they wouldnt work on it.
a quick google search doesnt exactly reveal shops that specialize in fuel system repair.
any advice before the parts cannon is deployed?
van seems to run fine. concern is inspection in NJ is not going to happen until repair is made.
any help or advice would be appreciated.
5.4 liter 2v 390k miles
thanks

The info provided is not enough to come to any conclusion.
A quality scan tool has functions that allow the various valves to be operated and results obtained as to whether the valves are functioning or not.
I suspect your shop may have had a problem pinning down the exact cause and just declined the job.
Evap system work is not that difficult if you know how it is supposed to work , have access to the info and the tools to diagnose the problem.
Suggest you consider a dealership service dept , bite the bullet, and maybe they can do the repair and inspection all at the same time.
