61 Econoline Pickup (Old Skool Project)
Hello all I am new here so if I do something wrong let me know. I just purchased my newest project at an estate auction. It is a 1961 Econoline Pickup. (I guess it is a 61 from the date on the park lamps and the tail light lens. I have plans to make it look like the Black hot rod in the picture below. I have a donor 95 F-150 for the engine and trans. Here are the numbers I got off the door if anyone can help me out with what they mean.
Warranty #: E10TH478982
Trans: A
Axle : 02
Body : 587
Color : J<-----I know this is some color red but I am not sure what color.
Model : E103
CERT: 85
In the center of the steering wheel: S-22
Thanks for any help you can give.

Welcome to the site..
Sweet old truck..
The trans code would be a 3 sd trans..
The body code was for a 'pickup body style'..
Model code was for Econoline truck line..
Color code was red, not sure if it was Rangoon Red or not?
Axle code may be a 3.89

Thanks man. I know for sure it has a old 3 on the tree in it. From looking around on the Econoline forum site it looks like the J = Rangoon Red and (E10TH478982)E10= E100/ T= engine size/H=Lorain OH Assembly Plant/478982= the month and year the truck was built. Anyone know how to figure the date out from this?

I checked paintscratch.com. According to them, the J code indicates MONTE CARLO RED for all 1961 Ford models other than Falcon and Thunderbird. Perhaps 'all models' means all car models, and does not apply to trucks.

You may want to start a thread and introduce yourself and then tell everyone what you are looking for. Let them know what vehicle you are working on too. That may get you more of a response.
