The NAPA parts dealer assured me it would be fine, and tonight it seems to be charging adaquately, and the battery (the 2nd one this week) appears to be holding the charge.
I bought a new battery a week ago last Friday, but the faulty alternator apparently fried it by Wednesday. I wasn't entirely convinced of that until I noticed the volts gauge on my dash pegged thursday night, and the replacement battery drained dead friday morning.
I'll wait to see if the Starter still sticks now with a new battery and alternator.
