'93 Ford E250 in line six
Question for all, Help. My 250,000 miler van cuts out when hot & in gear, generally at lights just as they are about to turn green. I have done a few things to remedy the problem, fuel filter, air filter changed. spark plugs gapped & changed. Idle air control valve & sensor changed. Distributor cap & rotor changed. Ground cable from post to under motor changed. Coil checked. Timing set. Van now runs like new but still stalls.Ford agents tell me they cannot diagnose the problem on a van this old, it is just a process of elimination. I am just trying to get the thing to run not restore it. Anybody else have that problem ? what am I overlooking? Help.

Ford had a problem with the in line sixes where the fuel injectors became extra hot and caused restart problems when shut down. It consisted of installing a cooling fan over the injectors to lessen the hot fuel problem. If you can't find anything on it on Google, let me know and I will try to get some info from the literature I have. Other than that I can't believe a Ford dealership would be so foolish as to tell you the vehicle is too old. Try another dealer !
As you know by this time they were pretty reliable engines if you took care of them.

Sorry to but in, but I have the same van. 93 E250 I6 4.9L. My issue is a little different. runs great until heated up, then shuts down instant. However spay fuel down intake and will run great. New fuel pump, regulator. But as soon as you stop injecting fuel the engine starves. I tried another ecu from the junkyard got it for 20$ and same issue. Hanky i never heard of this injector issue, i would like more info please.
Thank You
