Broken Power Window - Seeking DIY Fix

Broken Power Window - Seeking DIY Fix
Hello All,
The power window mechanism on the the drivers side made a ugly noise the other day and the window stopped responding to the power button.
The window motor was/is still actuated by the button, but the window stayed stuck - I had to manually raise it using my palms on either side of the glass, while rocking the power button back and forth. After removing the side panel, I figured out how to keep the window up using a few zip ties.
I peeked inside the door using a flashlight, and could not tell what the issue was, but thought that it might be a broken cable - the window will not stay up on its own, or something internal like a gear or a mysterious plastic thing that has broke (due to the spit-out 1 inch by half inch plastic bit)......
I am looking for a DIY to fix, and any diagrams or schematics that are available - my searches have not turned up anything thus far for a 2001 MY.
I have an Econoline, but imagine there is no difference from the same MY F-150.
Any help appreciated.

I followed DIY via youtube and forum posts and removed motor and parts via drilling out rivets.
Installed new motor and associated parts via bolt in with nylock nuts - no rivets....
Good luck!
