buying use 98 e250
Hello everyone. I'm very sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum... I can't seem to find any answers using the search so I'm posting a thread.
I'm debating a used 1998 E250 with the Triton V8 that has almost 160k miles on it.
It seems to be in ok shape. Engine seems to be running ok. Owner was happy to show me the engine which looked fairly clean (a bit dusty but no oil splatter or anything).
Transmission didn't seem to slip. I did stomp on the gas at the owner's suggestion and the van didn't seem to really lurch forward like other vans so I'm not sure if that's just normal, or if it's a sign of something wrong.
He says he did the wheel bearings and the scheduled maintenance, but not sure what that means either for these cargo vans.
Apparently, there are some coil overs on the rear so that it can handle more weight.
Is there anything I need to be careful with these cargo vans? The interior is a disaster but I'm going to be using it for hauling stuff anyway so I'm not too concerned with that.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
