Default Calling All Mechanics!! 94 E350 intermittent miss

I am in desperate need of help. I have been working with 2 mechanic friends and we can’t figure it out. My E350 Class C motor home with 460 motor has an intermittent miss. 35500 miles. Computer is not producing any codes. The miss usually occurs randomly every few seconds during idle and in motion at low to medium RPM’s. There is no miss when heavy in the throttle. Shifts well and runs very strong. The miss isn’t consistent and is totally random. It almost misses like the computer is turning off the injectors for a split second or shutting down the spark. Here is what I have done to date. Replaced plugs, wires, cap, throttle position sensor, thermostat, ignition coil and distributor. I don’t feel bad about replacing plugs, wires, cap and thermostat as they needed replacing. The TPS and distributer was my poor attempt at solving this problem. I have access to a snap on scan tool as well if any data needs to be pulled. Any ideas?

I have done some major research this morning and all arrows are pointing to ignition control module. I understood that in most cases when the ICM goes bad the vehicle won't run at all. It is $50 and what the heck I have already slaved over this POS and shelled out plenty of money anyway. I will let you know of my progress. Seems a lot of people have the same prob.

At last. It was the Ignition control module. Cheap fix if I would have started with it. Good luck to everyone.

I have a 94 econoline with the same problem! Thanks for the info I will try your fix tomorrow. I have noticed many people are having the same issue on other boards.

Good luck to you. I almost guarantee that is the problem. As those things age I guess the electronics deteriorate.
