Default Catalytic Converter Theft Concern

I've been reading a lot about cat converter thefts. I have 2010 E-150 van with 4.6L V8. Is there a cat converter security shield available for this vehicle? Should I not be concerned due to difficult access to cat converter?

Some folks have constructed a cage made from rebar and welded to make take away more difficult. Don't know if you want to go this route.

Someone got into a fleet yard over the weekend here once, and stole about 20 cats. Loss was figured in the thousands.

Thanks Hanky! I don't want to weld a cage. I may try to bend a skid plate as a deterant and bolt it on so they'll move on to an easier cat.

Sounds like a good idea.
Please keep in mind, the converters can get extremely hot and the areas around them. maybe a perforated shield that would hamper access to pipes and converters might work.
They can use a chain wrench cutter and cut wherever they can get the chain in there.

There's always the option of sitting in a lawn chair near the vehicle with a cold beer in one hand and a shotgun in the other. It's an old but effective method.

Thanks MPTESE. I was wanting more of a cage like dedicated enclosures that are made for many Hondas and Toyotas. It seems vans and pick-ups would be bigger targets due to their chassis height, but I'm not aware of any made for my van.
